FLINT — To get people moving, HealthPlus is sponsoring several race events throughout Michigan this year, which began with the Atwood Stadium Races on July 20.
Besides its presence as the presenting sponsor of the Atwood races, HealthPlus was represented in another exemplary way on race day — a group of HealthPlus employees were among the hundreds of race participants.
“The Atwood races are great midsummer runs,” said Brian Wilbur, a HealthPlus information technology professional and avid runner who participates in numerous HealthPlussponsored race events. He participated in the Atwood “Dual Medal-y” 5K and 10K event Saturday.
“We see tremendous potential for the Atwood races to become a major fitness event in Flint,” said Colleen Sproul, HealthPlus director of community relations. “These events can galvanize communities and generate excitement about physical activity. We’re thrilled to be a part of this new Flint-area tradition and look forward to its continued success.”
HealthPlus is also sponsoring the following upcoming race events:
• HealthPlus Crim Festival of Races, Aug. 24, Flint — 10-mile, 8K, 5K, Teddy Bear Trot
• Run for Your Heart, Sept. 7, Saginaw — half marathon, 10K, 5K, Tot Trot
• HealthPlus Brooksie Way, Sept. 29, Rochester — half marathon, 10K, 5K
