Security Credit Union presented the Swartz Creek Food Basket with a check for $500 – and later, a second check for $1,000 – to help provide meals for local families in need this holiday season. In attendance at the check presentation were, from left, Armando Hernandez, assistant vice president, Lynn Boyd and Janet Jennings representing the food pantry, and Joe Niedzwiecki and John Truchan from the Board of Directors. The pantry is a cooperative effort of the United Methodist Church of Swartz Creek, Messiah Lutheran and St. Mary Queen of Angels. It serves more than 600 residents of the Swartz Creek Community Schools district each month from headquarters at the Methodist church.
