— Local leaders and shoppers turned out in full force Nov. 18 to celebrate the grand opening of Himani Makeup & Skincare in the Genesee Valley Center.
For the grand opening, the store held a ribbon cutting ceremony that featured several local speaks, including Steve Flynn, director of the Genesee County Regional Chamber of Commerce; Kim Courts, Flint Township clerk; Kristen Cassabon, marketing manager for the Genesee Valley Center; Jet Kilmer, president of the Grand Blanc Chamber of Commerce; and owner Himani Gupta.
Flynn kicked off the ceremony, thanking Gupta and her husband, Deepak, for opening a store in the mall. “I’d like to thank the Guptas for investing in our community and opening up in the Genesee Valley,” he said.
Echoing his comments, Kilmer congratulated Gupta on her store. “We have a new company that is individuallyowned. I’m impressed with Himani, and I congratulate you on opening a third store,” she said.
Courts, who spoke on behalf of Flint Township Supervisor Karyn Miller, thanked Gupta for choosing to invest in the township.
“It’s always great to have a business owner such as Himani choose our community,” Courts said. “We wish you a happy success and thank you for choosing Flint Township.”
