BURTON — On March 4, 1946 Lowell Jerome Hodson married Dorotha Louise Wolford in Indiana.

The couple were both raised in Indiana and were part of the farming community. A few years later, they moved to Michigan and are still living in the home they purchased in Burton more than 60 years ago.

Together they enjoyed many adventures, including raising three children. Lowell is retired from the Grand Blanc Tank Plant. Louise had a successful Stanley Home Product business until she decided to put all of her efforts in raising her family and taking care of their home.

Lowell and Louise both enjoyed the outdoors and when they weren’t working on their property, they enjoyed fishing and snowmobiling. They were instrumental in developing the corporation, Whalen’s Grindstone Shores, served on the board and for many years and were involved in the day-to-day operations.

Their children, Toni and (John) Patterson, Stephen and (Diana), Pamela and (Dave) Campbell, are very proud of them for setting such a wonderful example of what marriage can be.

Lowell and Louise have also been blessed with nine grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
