Santa returns to GVC
FLINT TWP. — Santa Claus has arrved at Genesee Valley Center and joined his Woodland Friends in Center Court through Dec. 24. The Woodland Friends Santa display is based on the children’s book Stranger in the Woods by Carl R. Sams II and Jean Stoick, and is sponsored locally by Dort Federal Credit Union. Santa is available for photos 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Monday- Saturday and noon-5 p.m. Sunday through Dec. 23. Photos are available 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Christmas Eve. Each child that visits with Santa receives a special gift.

Humane Society open house

Annual Scrapbook Crop

Volunteers needed for UM-Flint’s Commencement
FLINT — Volunteers are needed to help with the Dec. 12 commencement for the University of Michigan-Flint.
The UM-Flint Commencement Committee is seeking people to help with setting up at Perani Arena and Event Center, seating guests, handing out programs and helping the students get ready for graduation. Holiday Wonder at FIA
FLINT — The FIA Art School presents its Holiday Wonder event 1-4 p.m. Dec. 18 in the art school studios. FLINT — The 27th Annual Holiday Walk 2010 returns to the Flint Cultural Center 5:30- 8:30 Dec. 7.
The tree lighting is at 5:15 p.m., and the festivities include caroling and live music; a visit with Santa Claus; free carriage rides; planetarium shows; fun, holiday theatre activities; hands-on arts and crafts; a live petting zoo; refreshment; and more.
