Christmas Eve services
GRAND BLANC — First United Congregational Church of Christ announces its Christmas Eve services and events.
On Dec. 24, the church will hold its Family Festival of Carols at 7 p.m. The family oriented service will include a variety of music as they retell the story of the birth of Jesus. This event is especially for children. At 11 p.m. Dec. 24, the church will hold its Traditional Candlelight Festival.
The final event for the church is its Living Nativity. For more than 20 years, First Congregational has told the story of Christmas through the Living Nativity. People are encouraged to drive or stop by the manger scene from 6-8 p.m. Dec. 22, 6:30-8 p.m. Dec. 23 and 7-11 p.m. Dec. 24.

Christmas Eve at Central Nazarene
FLINT TWP. — Central Church of the Nazarene invites the community to attend the annual Christmas Even Service 6 p.m. Dec. 24 at the church, 1261 W. Bristol Rd.
The one hour worship service includes carols and scripture presented by the Central Church Praise Team & Band with a Christmas meditation by Senior Pastor Rev. Glen Gardner. Old Newsboys support kids in Genesee County
DAVISON — The Old
Box Program provides warm clothing, two pairs of socks and underwear, gloves and a stocking cap, dental hygiene products and a toy to at-risk children. The program is funded entirely through the annual paper sale, donations and fundraisers. In its 86- year history, the Old Newsboys organization has put presents under the tree for more than 760,000 children across Genesee County. Last year alone, 5,892 children received gifts from the Old Newsboys.
“It’s all about the kids,” said the Newsboys’ Executive Director, Chris Hamilton. “I’m hoping the kids who can come out to support those who can’t.” —
See Santa at the GVC
FLINT TWP. — Santa Claus has arrived at Genesee Valley Center and joined his Woodland Friends in Center Court through Dec. 24. The Woodland Friends Santa display is based on the children’s book Stranger in the Woods by Carl R. Sams II and Jean Stoick, and is sponsored locally by Dort Federal Credit Union. Santa is available for photos 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Monday-Saturday and noon-5 p.m. Sunday through Dec. 23. Photos are available 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Christmas Eve. Each child that visits with Santa receives a special gift.
