Continuing their Christmastime tradition, members of the Swartz Creek Parks and Recreation Advisory Board have recognized four city residents for their outstanding holiday lighting displays. Judges divided the city into four sections and toured the neighborhoods looking for their favorite decorations. Winners received yard signs and certificates. This year’s honorees were 4186 Locust, where owner Jennifer Hect showed off her joy for this holiday season; 5194 Oakview, where owner Miranda Riness created a festive candy cane lane; 5238 Birchcrest, owned by David and Freda Sanders, who decorated with red ribbons, garland and wreaths; and 7580 and 7572 Church Street, owned by Fred Pajtas and Thomas and Connie O’Brien, respectively, who went with a classic, monochromatic light theme. Judges said Swartz Creek residents really went all out this year with their lighting displays.
