A joyous musical spectacle to lift the spirits

FLINT
— Celebrate the season with this uplifting Flint Symphony Orchestra musical extravaganza of your favorite carols and holiday classics. The Flint Symphony Orchestra and Conductor Enrique Diemecke present Holiday Pops, a display of delightful and festive musicality for all to enjoy at 7 p.m., Dec. 18 and at 3 p.m., Dec. 19 at The Whiting, 1241 E. Kearsley St. in Flint.

This year’s jubilee will be hosted by ABC12’s Bill Harris

and Angie Hendershot. The Dec. 18 performance will be broadcast live on ABC12.

Joining the FSO are: The Flint Festival Chorus, Bradley Bloom, director; Flint Jubilee Chorale, Sylvia Pittman, coordinator; Flint Festival Youth Chorus, Sylvia Pittman, director; Joseé Muldrew, dancer; and soloist, Sylvia Pittman, soprano.

Again this year, choir students from throughout mid- Michigan will join the Flint Festival Chorus for the per- formance, including representatives from: Brandon High School, Carman- Ainsworth High School, Clio High School, Davison High School, Durand High School, Flint Classical Academy, Grand Blanc High School, Linden High School, Mott Middle College High School, Mount Morris High School and New Lothrop High School.

Holiday Pops is the perfect way to get into the holiday spirit with carols like It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the
Year, White Christmas and Winter
Wonderland,
as well as a traditional sing-along. The Flint Jubilee Chorale will sing a stirring variety of music, including the timeless favorite, Carol of
the Bells.

The program will be rebroadcast on ABC12 at noon Christmas Day. It will also be shown by every PBS station in Michigan during the holiday season.

Holiday Pops is produced by the Flint Symphony Orchestra and presented and sponsored by The Flint Journal
and ABC12, with support from the Flint Institute of Music, The Whiting, Charles Stewart Mott Foundation, MCACA and the NEA.

Tickets for Holiday Pops range from $10-$30, with a $2 senior discount and half price for children under 18.
