The Easter Bunny presided over children up to age 10 hunting for 1,500 Easter Eggs on the grounds of Wildwind Community Church, 6020 Corunna Road. Indoor activities at the 3rd annual free family event included games and prizes, face painting and more. According to lore, the Easter egg hunt is a custom dating back to the 17th century when children believed an Easter hare laid the eggs. Eggs also are an ancient symbol of spring’s return and in Christian traditions represent the resurrection of Jesus Christ. See full story in the Living section.
