Concerts coming up at The Machine Shop
— The Machine Shop, 3539 S. Dort Hwy., Flint, will feature Filter with Middle Class Rut and Amanda Somerville on Nov. 4. Tickets are $15 in advance. On Nov. 6 the Devin Townsend Project (aka Strapping Young Lad) and Tesseract will perform starting at 7 p.m. Tickets are $10 in advance. On Nov. 10 My Darkest Days will perform, along with Tripp N Dixie, Mindflaw and Xitpoint. This is a low dough concert, just $5 at the door for 21 and over, $8 at the door for 18- 20 years old. Drama Club announces upcoming production

FYT presents My First Time
— Flint Youth Theatre’s staged reading of My First Time is 6 p.m. Nov. 14.
This collection of personal and intimate reallife stories is written by Ken Davenport and Real People Just Like You. My First Time is the second staged reading in FYT’s 2010-11 Off the Press Series and will be performed at Flint Youth Theatre, 1220 E. Kearsley St. The $5 admission includes the staged reading, a talk-back with the performers and refreshments provided by Fandangles’.
