Concerts coming up at The Machine Shop
FLINT — The Machine Shop, 3539 S. Dort Hwy., Flint, will present Smile Empty Soul, with special guests RA, Parabelle, Acidic and Serosia, Oct. 4. Tickets are $12 in advance.
The Howling Diablos with special guests Awesome Jarvis and the Whales and Red Stone Souls will perform Oct. 5. This is a low dough concert.
Hatebreed with special guests Shadows Fall, The Acacia Strain and Battlecross will perform on Oct. 10. Tickets are $26 in advance.
Uncle Kracker with special guests The Skinny and Matt Austin will perform Oct. 11. Saugatuck Brewing Company will hold a tap takeover. Tickets are $25 in advance.

Eerie Experiments at Longway Planetarium
FLINT — Join Longway Planetarium’s staff of Halloween hooligans as they mix up some fizzing, color changing potions, make glow in the dark monster hands, and build an obnoxious sounding ghost caller. This is happening Oct. 25, for families with kids ages 8 and up.
Times are 6-7 p.m. (program), 7 p.m. (pizza and pop), $12 per person or $40 for a family of four — includes pizza. These fast-paced and fun hands-on activities and demonstrations are sure to get you in the Halloween spirit. Register online or print off the registration form and mail it in. FLINT —Dinosaurs return to Flint! These dinosaurs don’t just look like real dinosaurs, they behave like real dinosaurs. Explore the Earth during the Cretaceous period through hands-on activities and interactive displays that encourage you to look, listen, and discover more about these fascinating creatures who used to rule the world. Discover the world of dinosaurs with lifelike, roaring, moving, prehistoric creatures.
The exhibit is from Oct. 12-Jan. 12 at the Sloan Museum, 1221 E. Kearsley St., Flint. Tickets are $9 for adults, $8 for Seniors (60+) $6 for Youth age 3-11, free for children age 2 and under. Annual Pass Holder Club Members receive free admission. — G.G.
