Concerts coming up at The Machine Shop

FLINT — The Machine Shop, 3539 S. Dort Hwy., Flint, will present its Metal Showcase March 4 with Battlecross, A Sleepless Malice, C.I. and other local bands. Doors open at 7 p.m. This is a low dough concert. Apocalyptica will perform March 8 with Given Six and Avenue Sky. Doors open at 7 p.m. Tickets are $18 in advance. This concert was rescheduled from Nov. 30. Tickets from that show will be honored. Doors open at 7 p.m. Tickets are $10 in advance. Country-western fun at Wild Spurs

GRAND BLANC — Wild Spurs, part of The Jewel Entertainment Complex, at 5270 Perry Rd., features live bands Friday and Saturday nights. Friday nights are rock music and Saturday’s are county. Dance party scheduled

GRAND BLANC — Dance each Tuesday evening at the Jewel of Grand Blanc, 5270 Perry Rd. There is a dance party from 7-10 p.m. They play Swing, Latin and Ballroom. Food and drinks are available before and during the dances. The cover charge is only $3 per person. — G.G.

Tickets go on sale for Berenstain Bears

FLINT — Tickets are now available for Flint Youth Theatre’s presentation of Matt Murphy Productions’ The Berenstain Bears in Family Matters. This FYT Special Event will be on April 5 with performances at 4:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. This performance offers families an affordable entertainment experience and, paired with a book from The Berenstain Bears series, it will make a memorable gift this holiday season.

Performances are at The Whiting, 1241 East Kearsley St., on the campus of the Flint Cultural Center. All tickets are $10 and are available at Flint Youth Theatre, by calling 810-237-1530 or online at The Berenstain Bears in Family Matters is recommended for families with children ages 3 to 8.

Adapted from the classic children’s books by Stan and Jan Berenstain, The Berenstain Bears sing, dance and share a day in Bear Country. This musical adventure weaves together three of the most popular books of the Berenstain series: The Berenstain Bears Learn about Strangers, The Berenstain Bears and Too Much Junk Food and The Berenstain Bears’ Trouble at School. Papa Bear can’t stop eating junk food, Brother Bear’s grades are slipping and Sister Bear still has a lot to learn about talking to strangers.
