Concerts coming up at The Machine Shop

FLINT — The Machine Shop, 3539 S. Dort Hwy., Flint, will feature Arcadia with Thick As Thieves on Sept. 10. This is a low dough concert. On Sept. 11 is Nonpoint with Egypt Central, Abused Romance and Virginia Gray at 7 p.m. Tickets are $15 in advance. Colt Ford with Whitey Morgan and Tyler Farr in a killer country show. Tickets are $15 in advance. Country-western fun at Wild Spurs

GRAND BLANC — Wild Spurs, part of The Jewel Entertainment Complex, at 5270 Perr y Rd., features live bands Friday and Saturday nights. Acrylic paint workshop at Boundless Arts

GRAND BLANC — Mary Beth Schiros will present “Expand Your Horizon With Acrylic Painting” at Boundless Arts, 12235 S. Saginaw St., Grand Blanc, on Oct. 2 from 10:30 a.m.-4 p.m. This workshop will present an overview of acr ylic paints and mediums, such as gesso, grounds, pouring and glazing mediums.

Local artist Mary Beth Schiros will discuss the advantages of using acrylics vs. other paints, and special techniques applicable only to the acrylic medium. The workshop will begin with demonstrations followed by hands-on experimentation by the participants.
