FIA holds 3rd Annual Art on Tap beer tasting event
— Flint Institute of Arts presents the 3rd Annual “Art on Tap” Beer Tasting event on Sept. 25 from 4-9 p.m. The celebration will take place on the FIA East Lawn under a huge tent and will feature more than 60 craft and import brews with a sensational line up including Samuel Adams, Michelob Amber Bock, Sierra Nevada, Magic Hat, Leinenkugel’s, Bell’s, Blue Moon, Stella Artois and much more. Beer lovers will not want to miss this fun-filled evening of sampling beers, talking with beer experts and supporting the FIA.
Each guest will receive (5) tasting tickets and a commemorative tasting glass for a $20 admission. FIA members will receive a discount at $15 for admission. Additional tasting tickets will be available for $1 each.

Acrylic paint workshop at Boundless Arts
— Mary Beth Schiros will present “Expand Your Horizon With Acrylic Painting” at Boundless Arts, 12235 S. Saginaw St., Grand Blanc, on Oct. 2 from 10:30 a.m.-4 p.m. This workshop will present an overview of acrylic paints and mediums, such as gesso, grounds, pouring and glazing mediums.
Local artist Mary Beth Schiros will discuss the advantages of using acrylics vs. other paints, and special techniques applicable only to the acrylic medium. The workshop will begin with demonstrations followed by hands-on experimentation by the participants.

Country-western fun at Wild Spurs
— Wild Spurs, part of The Jewel Entertainment Complex, at 5270 Perry Rd., features live bands Friday and Saturday nights. Friday nights are country music and Saturday’s are rock and roll.
