Sweet Adelines to perform Mystery Dinner Theater

DAVISON — “WHO DUN IT?”, a Musical Mystery Dinner Theater presented by the Song of the Lakes Sweet Adelines Chorus, will be held at the Davison County Club, 9512 E. Faculty Jazz Quintet set to heat up November

FLINT — The University of Michigan-Flint’s Department of Music presents the Faculty Jazz Quintet in concert, Nov. 9, at 7:30 p.m. The concert takes place at the UM-Flint Theatre, 303 E. Kearsley St., Flint. Tickets are $5 for general admission and free to students with valid I.D. As the name implies, the quintet is comprised of five outstanding musicians from the department’s faculty. In addition to their work at UM-Flint, Jim Coviak (drums) leads the Mott Community College Steelheads and Brian DiBlassio is the pianist for Latin Jazz bands Los Gatos, Tumbao Bravo and Nuevo Rumbón. Jeff Price (alto sax) splits his

time between UM-Flint, the University of Windsor, and the Flint Institute of Music. Pat Prouty is a composer and veteran bass-man from the Detroit area. Saúl Medina to perform

FLINT — The Flint Symphony Orchestra continues its season, Around the World in 80 Musical Minutes, at 8 p.m., Nov. 5 at The Whiting, 1241 E. Kearsley St. in Flint. The orchestra, led by Maestro Enrique Diemecke, will perform several works by composers Beethoven, Diemecke, and Mahler. Saúl Medina has studied music in Mexico, U.S.A., Italy, Brazil, Czech Republic and Poland. He has participated as a soloist with the following orchestras: Moscow State Symphony Orchestra (Russia), Filarmónica de Bueno Aires (Argentina) Flint Symphony Orchestra (Michigan), Long Beach Symphony Orchestra (California), Sinfónica Petrobras (Río de Janeiro Brasil), Filarmónica de Bogotá (Columbia), Orquesta de Cámara del Conservatorio Nacional de Música, Mexico, Bellas Artes Chamber Orchestra, Mexico.
