Concerts coming up at The Machine Shop

FLINT — The Machine Shop, 3539 S. Dort Hwy., Flint, will present Adrenaline Mob & Kill Devil Hill featuring current and former members of Black Sabbath, Pantera, Dream Theater, Symphony X and Disturbed on May 11. VIP packages available at or Candlebox, with special guests Acidic, will perform May 12. Tickets are $22 in advance.

The Clutch show on May 13 is sold out.

Hell Yeah, with special guests Otherwise and Tensionhead, will perform May 16. Tickets are $25 in advance.

P.O.D. and Red, with special guests Love & Death (featuring Brian “Head” Welch) and Icon for Hire, will perform May 17. Tickets are $22 in advance.

Mother’s Day Special given by Harmony Gateway

FLINT — A Mother’s Day Special , sponsored by Harmony Gateway Chorus, will be held May 13 from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Masonic Temple, 755 S. Saginaw St., at the corner of Fourth Street, just north of I-69.

Treat mom to a wonderful buffet. Included is dessert and beverage and entertainment. Adults are $10 and children ages 3-12 are $7. Chorus members will have tickets, and you can purchase them at the door.— G.G.

Whaley House open for tours

Lapeer Kiwanis art festival

LAPEER — The Lapeer Sunrise Kiwanis Club’s 2012 Art & History Festival will take place June 1-3, on the Chatfield School and Mott Community College grounds located at the corner of DeMille Rd. and M- 21 in Lapeer.

The event is expanding once again with more juried Art exhibitors, more Civil War re-enactor units and a replay of the hot air balloon event. To tap into the “Pure Michigan” theme, they have added juried Michigan-made food and cottage crafts as well as vintage cars and tractors.

They are in need of sponsors, and are still accepting vendors, re-enactors and exhibitors. Details: Visit or call 810-614-1374.
