Concerts coming up at The Machine Shop

FLINT — The Machine Shop, 3539 S. Dort Hwy., Flint, will present Rock Star, an 80s Hair Band tribute concert, Aug. 25 . This is a low dough concert.

Surviving Justin, the official CD release concert, with special guest Mandi Lane, will take place Aug. 31. This is a low dough concert.

Ventana, with special guests 5ubkultur3 and Monochrome Circuit, will perform Sept. 1. This is a low dough concert.

Live entertainment at Louie’s Sports Tavern

LAPEER — Louie’s Sports Tavern, 3301 Davison Rd., will feature Jaime Marvin, a local musician who plays anything from classic rock to rock and pop music, tonight (Aug. 23) starting at 9:30 p.m.

DJ. Ryan with R&R Lighting and Sounds, will play all the hits at Louie’s Aug. 24 starting at 9:30 p.m.

On Aug. 25, Surviving Justin, an alternative country band (described as Rob Thomas meets Charlie Daniels) will perform starting at 9:30 p.m.

Muscle Cars at the Sloan Museum

FLINT — Muscle Cars are on display at the Sloan Museum, 1221 E. Kearsley St., through Sept. 16. From a 1957 Chrysler 300 to a 1987 BuickGNX, this exhibit is sure to appeal to visitors of all ages.

Since they stormed on the scene in the mid-sixties, these high-powered behemoths changed the face of the automotive industry forever. Learn the stories that shaped each one of these American icons.
