Concerts coming up at The Machine Shop

FLINT — The Machine Shop, 3539 S. Dort Hwy., Flint, will present Tremonti featuring Mark Tremonti of Alterbridge and Creed, with special guests Man the Mighty and No Resolve, tonight (Sept. 20). Tickets are $15 in advance.

My Darkest Days, with special guests Otherwise and Surrender the Fall, will perform Sept. 21. Tickets are $15 in advance.

12 Stones will perform Sept. 22 with special guests The Letter Black, Westfall and Amplaphi on Sept. 22. Tickets are $10 in advance.

Live entertainment at Louie’s

LAPEER — Louie’s Sports Tavern, 3301 Davison Rd., will feature Team Trivia Begins every Wednesday 7-9 p.m. Prizes for winners each night 1st-3rd place.

Jaime Marvin, a local musician; she plays anything from Classic Rock to Rock to Pop Music, starting at 9:30 p.m. tonight (Sept. 20).

On Sept. 22, at 7:30 p.m. the University of Michigan vs. Notre Dame and Mindflaw CD Release Party in the Mezzanine over the Polar Palace. An up and coming band who is taking over the Flint/Lapeer area. Their nu-metal sound is backed up with acoustic ballads that will leave you asking for more! Details: Call 810-667-1500. — G.G.

Folk music concert Sept. 22

GRAND BLANC — A folk music concert with Neil Woodward, Jackie Davidson and Gary Brandt will be held Sept. 22 at the Grand Blanc United Methodist Church, 515 Bush St.

The concert begins at 7 p.m. and the cost is $5 per person.

The theme will be “The Good Old Songs” with classic and original folk music being performed.

Woodward is known as Michigan’s Troubadour follwing a proclamation by Michigan’s legislature. He is a well-know musician and historian who’s music has a lot to do with Michigan history.

He is also a familiar face at Flint’s Crossroads Village and the Huckleberry Railroad, where he has donated his time for a number of years.

Brandt, a Grand Blanc native, and Davidson, a former member of the New Christy Minstrels, will be performing together.
