Concerts coming up at The Machine Shop

FLINT — The Machine Shop, 3539 S. Dort Hwy., Flint, will present Mushroomhead, with special guests After the Minor, Blood for the Unborn and Six Seconds to Oblivion, Sept. 28. Tickets are $18 in advance.

Pop Evil, with special guests Crackjaw and Kaleido, will perform Sept. 29. Tickets are $15 in advance.

Statis-X will perform Oct. 6 with special guests Emmure, Ill Nino and 9 Electric. Tickets are $25 in advance.

Live entertainment at Louie’s Sports Tavern

LAPEER — Louie’s Sports Tavern, 3301 Davison Rd., will feature Team Trivia Begins every Wednesday 7-9 p.m. Prizes for winners each night 1st-3rd place.

Davison Magpie featuring Drew Machak, a Michigan native, will perform starting at 9:30 p.m. tonight (Sept. 27). This singer/songwriter combines blues, pop and soul singing everything from The Black Keys to Stevie Wonder to originals you can’t hear anywhere else.

On Sept. 28, at 9:30 p.m. Sweet Charlie Acoustic, made up of experienced and respected musicians who love to rock, will perform. Their goal is to keep you on the dance floor all night long.

On Sept. 29 at 1 p.m. the MSU vs. Ohio State game will be shown at Louie’s while Westfall performs acoustic. This is the alternative/rock/modern rock band’s only acoustic jam session.

Whaley House open for tours

Try Square Dancing

FLUSHING — Starting Oct. 2 from 7:30-9:30 p.m.,and every subsequent Tuesday at the Flushing United Methodist Church at 413 E. Main Street in Flushing, there will be Square Dance lessons. Dress is casual, and the first session is free. Following lessons are $6 per person per session. No experience necessary. Come and enjoy the fun and fellowship. — G.G.
