CAMS robotics team headed for World Competition

FLINT TWP. — MO’ Peeps, the Carman- Ainsworth Middle School VEX Robotics Team, is attending the VEX World Competition April 25-28 in Louisville, KY. For the second year in a row, the team is the Middle School State Champions in VEX Robotics and two of only six teams from Michigan eligible to attend the World meet this year. — R.S.

Fundraiser for Little Lamb’s Compassionate Ministry Center

FLINT TWP. — CROP 4 Little Lamb’s, a scrapbooking event to raise funds for needy children, will be held from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on April 28, at West Flint Church of the Nazarene, 2254 South Dye Road. The cost is $35 per person after April 16, if space is available, and will secure a four-foot table space with continental breakfast, lunch and dinner, snacks, beverages and wireless Internet. The event also will include prizes, gift bags, raffles and vendors. Power outlets are available upon request Since 2005, Little Lamb’s has provided free clothing for newborns through high school students, diapers, toys, furniture and other items needed by families with children. Senior Center hits attendance goal

FLINT TWP. — The Carman-Ainsworth Senior Citizens Center is celebrating its 1000th visitor which will bring the center maximum funding from the county senior millage. The center requires 1000 unduplicated hits from swipe cards used by seniors entering the building, said Jim McClung, a member of the senior citizens board of directors. McClung said the scan system only counts the same person once, regardless of how many times they visit in a year

A drop in millage funding puts strain on the board to try to figure out what programs and services have to be cut, he said. He credited Pam Luna, center director, with doing a fabulous programming job to attract participants. — R.S.

Greenest of Holidays at For- Mar

BURTON — For-Mar Nature Preserve & Arboretum, 2142 N.
