FLINT TWP. — Carman-Ainsworth Schools is accepting Schools of Choice applications for the second semester of the 2018-2019 school year. There are limited openings at all grade levels at Carman- Ainsworth — Baker Career Academy, C-A High School and C-A Middle School. Applications for grades K-5 must be received by 4 p.m. June 13. June events at the library
FLINT TWP. — The Flint Township-McCarty Library will present Exotic Zoo on June 9 at 2 p.m. — a hands-on animal program featuring a sloth, lemur, an anteater-looking animal and even a kangaroo. Please note: animals available for viewing, touching and handling may change. The McCarty Library also will hold a Noisemaker Workshop on June 30 at 1 p.m. Build your own musical instruments to take home while learning how vibrations cause sound. This program is led by an educator from the Sloan Museum. (Ages 4-12)
The Genesee Valley Center Library will hold a Resume Drop-in Workshop on June 6 and 20 from noon to 2 p.m. Get your job search on track and spruce up your resume with GDL’s Marlena Moore. Just bring a digital copy of your current resume to get started. (Teens 16+ and adults)
The Genesee Valley Center Library will present Humor, Poetry & Music with Johnnie Jones on June 9 at 3 p.m. GDL’s Johnnie Jones will present a mixture of humor, nonsense poetry and silly music. (All ages welcome)
The Genesee District Library Board of Trustees will meet at 5:30 p.m. June 18 in the conference room of the Headquarters branch, 4195 West Pasadena Avenue. The meetings are open to the public.
The Genesee Valley Center Library will hold an eReader Drop-in Class on June 13 and 27 from 4 to 6 p.m. Get one-on-one eReader help in using GDL’s digital library. (All ages welcome)
The Genesee Valley Center Library will present Cameron Zvara’s Magic Show on June 30 at 2 p.m. This show is jam-packed with magic, comedy, juggling, stunts, music and tons of audience participation. The Headquarters Library will hold Technology Tutoring on June 7, 14, 21 and 28 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Librarian Liz will help with any technology issues you might have.
