Movies under the stars

FLINT — Movies Under the Stars from Communities First, Inc. will begin their outdoor film series on June 29. The series features a pre-party starting at 7:30 p.m. including lawn games, dancing and music. Each experience is different and may include bounce houses, special guests and contests. Each guest will receive a bag of popcorn, a drink and candy to enjoy during the movie. The experience is free, however donations are encouraged. The lineup is as follows: The Little Rascals, June 29 – Flint City Hall, back lawn; Despicable Me 3, July 13 – Flint City Hall, back lawn; The Game Plan, July 28 – Kettering University’s Atwood Stadium; The Secret Life of Pets, August 10 – Applewood Estate; Moana, August 24 – Flint City Hall, back lawn. FLINT — The Flint Convention and Visitor’s Bureau’s sixth annual “Be a Tourist in Your Hometown” event will be held July 14 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Residents and non-residents alike can experience the best the community has to offer – all for only $1. Buy your passport online by July 7 for a chance to win two tickets to the Ally Challenge presented by McLaren. The passport grants you free admission to participating attractions, complimentary transportation between attractions, provided by co-sponsor Flint MTA, discounts to several restaurants in downtown Flint.
