Movies under the stars
FLINT — Movies Under the Stars from Communities First, Inc. continues with The Secret Life of Pets, Aug. 10 at the Applewood Estate, 1400 E. Kearsley (parking off Robert T. Longway Blvd.). The series features a pre-party starting at 7:30 p.m. including lawn games, dancing and music. Each experience is different and may include bounce houses, special guests and contests. Each guest will receive a bag of popcorn, a drink and candy to enjoy during the movie. The experience is free, however donations are encouraged. Additional movies are as follows: Moana, Aug. 24 – Flint City Hall, back lawn. Pizza Challenge 5K Run & Walk & Lil’ Pepperoni quarter mile
FLINT — A 5k run & hosted by Bauman’s Running and Walking Shop will be held Aug. 9 from 6:30 – 9:30 p.m. at the Flint YMCA, 411 E. 3rd Street to benefit the Flint YMCA and the Riverbend Striders running Club. The race includes free pizza following the race for all registered participants.
