Search and Rescue Training
COLUMBIAVILLE — Greater Michigan Search and Rescue will host an open training session for those interested on Sept. 15 from 8:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. at Zemmer Park, on Zemmer Road, Columbiaville. This training will feature different scenarios and is open to the public. A great opportunity to join the group, or learn more. Please wear pants, long or short sleeve shirt, shoes or boots, and a hat. Bring bug spray, a walking stick and water. Must be 18 years or older to participate. You will be going into the woods with our team members and doing searches followed by a picnic half way thru the training. Attendees are welcome to bring a passing dish! Mustard’s Retreat benefit concert for Flint
FLINT — The Flint Folk Music Society, in conjunction with the Flint Public Library and Mustard’s Retreat, are producing a benefit concert for, and a celebration of, the people of Flint. It will be presented at the Flint Public Library, 1026 E. Kearsley St., September 21, at 6:30 pm. Admission is free, but a voluntary donation of water or non-perishable food is requested. No monetary donations will be accepted, but information will be available that night as to where you can contribute to support the people of Flint. Mustard’s Retreat has been synonymous with folk music in the Flint area since the late 1970s, when they appeared frequently in the area. 7th Annual Touch-A-Truck 2018
GRAND BLANC TWP. — Grand Blanc Township Police Department host a fun, kid-friendy event Sept. 29 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the University of Michigan parking lot at 5th Avenue at Saginaw Street, across from Rallys.
In partnership with the University of Michigan-Flint Department of Public Safety, this free family event features face painting, bounce houses, hot dogs and much more.
