End of strike means Mill Road bridge work underway
FLINT TWP. — Supervisor Karyn Miller said the strike by the Michigan Infrastructure and Transportation Association, a collective bargaining union representing hundreds of companies who build and repair roads and bridges in Michigan, has ended. The tentative agreement reached between the state and the union restarted many road construction projects around the state, including the Mill Road bridge in Flint Township.
“They were supposed to finish by Thanksgiving,” said Miller. “But at least maybe they’ll finish now by the time it snows.” — G.G.
Flint Township Senior Center to hold pig roast
FLINT TWP. — The Flint Township Senior Citizens Center, 2071 S. Graham Rd., will hold a pig roast, Oct. 20. Tickets are $10 and there are 100 tickets available. The roast is from 1-3 p.m. There will also be a Chinese auction. — G.G.
