Two unopposed in Carman- Ainsworth board race

FLINT TWP. — Two candidates will run unopposed for the Carman-Ainsworth Board of Education in the Nov. 6 election. Incumbent board members Gary Cousins and Gloria Nealy, whose terms end Dec. 31, will appear unopposed on the Nov. 6 ballot. Cousins is currently vice president of the board, while Nealy is a trustee. — G.G.

GENESEE COUNTY — Genesee County 911 is offering a new smart phone app called SMART 911 which is designed to call users back in a disaster. If interested in receiving this alert, sign up and download the app at www.smart911.com. — G.G.

Absentee ballot available at township hall

FLINT TWP. — Absentee ballots are available at the Flint Township offices, 1490 S. Dye Rd. Residents who wish to vote by absentee ballot can do so by either stopping in or calling the township clerk’s office at 810-732-1350. Nov. 5 is the last day last to return absentee ballots, until 4 p.m. that day. — G.G.

Voting machine demonstration on Oct. 30

FLINT TWP. — Flint Township Clerk Kathy Funk will hold a public accuracy test for the voting machines at the township offices, 1490 S. Dye Rd., on Oct. 30 at 10 a.m. — G.G.

Church to hold Euchre tournament

WFBA to hold monthly meeting at Woodhaven

FLINT TWP. — The West Flint Business Association will be holding its Nov. 15, and Dec. 13 meetings at Woodhaven Senior Community Center, G-5201 Woodhaven Court. It is in the back of the Woodhaven Community off of Dye Road (by Corunna Road). There will be a buffet for $8. (please pay by cash or check). They’re working on being able to accept credit cards. Fall Harvest Festival

SWARTZ CREEK — Cornerstone Baptist Church, 6374 Miller Road, will host the 2nd annual Fall Harvest Festival from 1-5 p.m. Oct. 27. This year, the event will raise funds for the Elms Park dog park. Trunk or treat, food trucks, inflatables, fire trucks, hay rides, pony rides, pumpkin chucking, a pie eating competition, bubble soccer, bonfire, more. — L.R.
