Guns N’ Hoses Dodgeball

GRAND BLANC — A benefit for and hosted by the Weiss Child Advocacy Center will be held Oct. 25 from 6-10 p.m. at Grand Blanc High School, 12500 Holly Road. Halloween Open House

FLINT — Weiss Child Advocacy Center hosts an Open House Oct.30 from 3–6 p.m. at their offices, 515 S. East Street. Celebrate Halloween with family friendly activities and light refreshments as we welcome our newest Child & Family Therapist, Paula Archambault. Families will have the opportunity to meet with Paula for a small therapeutic game/exercise as well as access mental health services via referral. All are welcome to join the fun! Michigan Food, Beer, & Wine Fest 2018

FLINT — Dort Federal Credit Union hosts the Michigan Food, Beer, Wine Fest Nov. 3 from 6–10 p.m.at the Dort Federal Credit Union Event Center, 3501 Lapeer Road. The 7th Annual Michigan Food, Beer, Wine Fest will feature over 100 Michigan beers, over 60 Michigan Wines, and some great local food vendors in a park like setting inside Dort Event Center. General admission $25 in advance (until Oct. 20) and includes 10 drink samples, five food samples, and a tasting glass. General admission tickets will be $45 at the door. Soaring Eagle Casino Golden Ticket holders will have access to the event one hour early, free parking, 10 drink sample tickets, five food sample tickets, and a tasting glass. 2018-19 Friday Applewood Lecture Series

FLINT — The Mott Community College (MCC) Lifelong Learning office announces the 2018-19 Friday Applewood Lecture Series. The next program in the line-up is: Ric Mixter will present “The Most Famous Rescues on the Great Lakes,” on Friday, Nov.16, 2018, at 10 a.m., featuring the Coast Guard’s finest moments, including the tragic career of the Michigan built cutter “Escanaba”. This series especially designed for senior citizens, but is open to everyone runs through May.
