2018 Annual Santa Run
FLINT — Hosted by First Choice Heating & Cooling Services, a 5k Santa Run will be held Saturday, Dec. 1 from 12 – 2 p.m. at the Flint YMCA, 411 E. 3rd St. The YMCA Family Santa Run/Walk is an untimed 5K and one-mile event for the entire community! Each participant receives a 5-piece Santa suit to wear during the event so thousands of Santas descend on Downtown Flint to raise money for over 8,000 youth, families and seniors who use the services at the YMCA! This event raises money for the YMCA of Greater Flint scholarship assistance program. This fund provides assistance to youth and families in our community so that they may participate in YMCA programs. Sponsors help make our event a success! New Century Chorale performing locally in Fenton and Grand Blanc
GRAND BLANC — New Century Chorale is looking for new members to join them in making beautiful choral music. Have you sung in a high school or church choir in the past and miss expressing yourself through singing? They sing both secular and sacred choral songs.
New Century Chorale practices on Monday nights from 7 – 9 PM at St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church in Grand Blanc. Their new year starts on Jan. 7 getting ready for a concert in March and another in May.
The New Century Chorale is a local adult community choir of 50 members bringing the arts to both the Grand Blanc and Fenton communities. New Century Chorale is celebrating its 25th season of bringing beautiful choral music to the community. The chorale’s goal is to celebrate their 25th season by sharing their favorite songs from the past 25 years.

2018-19 Friday Applewood Lecture Series
FLINT — The Mott Community College (MCC) Lifelong Learning office announces the 2018-19 Friday Applewood Lecture Series. The next program in the line-up is: Dr. Chris Flores & Kenneth Charles Briggs will present on the “Opioid Crisis,” Friday, Dec. 14, at 10 a.m. Dr. Chris Flores is the former Vice President of Health Integration for Sacred Heart Rehabilitation and is a current board member of the greater Flint Health Coalition. This life story of Kenneth Briggs highlights the difficulties of being born into a home filled with drug and alcohol activity. This series especially designed for senior citizens, but is open to everyone runs through May.
