Flint Resiliency & Environmental Justice Summit

FLINT — Flint Resiliency in Communities After Stress and Trauma Program hosts a free, all day event March 28 from 8 a.m. – 6 p.m. at Flint Southwestern Academy, 1420 West 12th Street. Programs feature the best practices and speakers to equip community members and professionals with the tools needed to support the Flint community and provides actionable practices and knowledge for professionals working in education, healthcare and human service agencies. Speakers will cover theory and provide practices implemented in Flint-area organizations. National environmental justice experts have been invited to join area residents in discussions centered on key aspects of environmental justice and public health issues in Flint. Kettering history featured

FLINT — The Mott Community College (MCC) Lifelong Learning office announces the 2018- 19 Friday Applewood Lecture Series. The next program in the line-up is Greg M. Miller who will present on the Kettering University Centennial Celebration on Friday, April 26 at 10 a.m. He will provide great insight on 100-year-old history of what began as the Flint School of Automotive Trade in October 14, 1919. This series especially designed for senior citizens but is open to everyone runs through May. Healing Hands 5K Run/Walk 2019

FLINT —The Genesee County Free Medical Clinic hosts this event May 18 from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. at Mott Community College, 1401 E. Court Street. This 24th annual race helps a vital need in the county to provide care free of charge to patients of the Genesee County Free Medical Clinic (GCFMC). All monies raised by the race will go directly to help the patients as doctors, nurses, clerical staff, and pharmacists at the clinic are all volunteers. This is a run/ walk road race. Parking available at the college. Run starts at 9 a.m., walk follows. Packet pick up & late registration on race day 8-8:45 am. This is a USTAF Certified Course.
