Team Buddy Forever Foundation Shootout

FLUSHING — Come help the Team Buddy Forever Foundation to fight DIPG and childhood cancer by registering for the Team Buddy Forever Foundation Green Sox Shootout. This tournament will be held at the Flushing Valley Golf & Country Club on June 15, with registration starting at 4:30 p.m. and a shot gun start at 5:30 p.m. The format will consist of two-person teams and will include nine holes of golf with a cart. Pizza, a 50/50 raffle and a contest for the Best Lime Green Golf Outfit will be held after the tournament in the club house. Each golfer will also receive a pair of green Buddy socks.

Fr. Anthony Classic Car Show

FLUSHING — Gear up for the 2nd Annual Fr. Anthony Classic Car Show on June 7 from the St. Robert Bellarmine Parish in Flushing. The show line-up will start at 2 p.m. and judging will begin at 7 p.m. There will be food and drinks, bingo from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. and a DJ on-site all day long. Admission for the public is free, and the cost to enter a classic car is $15. The St. Robert Bellarmine Parish is located on 310 N. Cherry St. — B.G.

Family Promise Benefit Concert

FLUSHING — Flushing United Methodist Church will be hosting its 5th Annual Family Promise Benefit Concert on June 9 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Riverview Park Band Shell. Entertainment will include Christian Rock band 1 Fifty and special guest bands. There will also be face painting, a bounce house, a slime table and refreshments. The concert is free, but donations are encouraged to support Family Promise, a non-profit organization that provides homeless families with food, shelter and other resources. — B.G.

Bristol Road work planned

CLAYTON TWP. and SWARTZ CREEK — Chip seal work is planned for Bristol Road between Morrish and Seymour roads this year.

The Genesee County Road Commission will pay 50 percent of the $80,961 total cost. The city of Swartz Creek will put up $5,810 to cover half the remaining cost for the small stretch within the city limits. Clayton Township will pick up the rest of the tab. — L.R.

Reserve pavilions

SWARTZ CREEK — Area residents planning events at Elms or Abrams parks must reserve pavilions. Rental fees are charged for events on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and holidays. There is a $100 refundable deposit. Information: 810-635-4464. — L.R.
