Cooking with kids!

FLINT — Commit to Fit features Cooking With Kids at The Flint Children’s Museum, 1602 University Ave. This free hands-on program teaches families to make healthy food choices, while learning to cook fresh, affordable recipes from diverse cultural traditions. Upcoming sessions July 9 -July 30 on Tuesdays, 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.; July 11 – Aug. 1, Thursdays 5:30 to 7 p.m.; Aug. 8 – 29, Thursdays 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. Participants are invited to arrive 45 minutes early and play in the museum for free weekly incentives provided. Ice Cream Social

FLINT — The Ferris Wheel and Foster Coffee Company host an Ice Cream Social in conjunction with July’s second Friday downtown Artwalk. Stop in on Friday, July 12 from 6–9 p.m. at The Ferris Wheel, 615 S. Saginaw Street. There will be an ice cream sundae bar open to the public! Kettering University Centennial Fest

FLINT — Kettering University celebrates their 100th anniversary as a leader of STEM education and a member of the Flint Community. Join them Saturday, July 20 from 12 noon – 8 p.m. at Atwood Stadium, 701 University Ave. This event features Grammy award-winning artist T-Pain who will be headlining the music festival. Crafters giving back

FLINT — Would you like to join other crafters using your skills to give back to your community? Flint Handmade Gives Back: Crafting for Charity, hosted by The Local Grocer, 601 Martin L. King Ave. A quarterly event supporting local charities: Sept. 18 at 5:30 p.m. (event to be announced), and Dec. 18 at 5:30 p.m. (Making Cards for Hurley Kids). Creatives, couples, friends and family are invited to join us for a fun evening of giving back to the community! All supplies are provided. Appropriate for ages 10 and up.
