GHCI hosts survivor celebration at FIA

FLINT — Genesys Hurley Cancer Institute (GHCI) will host a celebration of cancer survivors on Thursday, Aug. 15, from 5 to 8 the Flint Institute of Arts (FIA), 1120 E. Kearsley Street. Beginning at 5 p.m. guests can enjoy hors d’oeuvres and stroll through the FIA’s art gallery. At 6 p.m., GHCI will conduct a brief welcoming ceremony and celebration, followed by a performance by the duo StoweGood, which is comprised of Grammy-nominated songwriter, author and speaker Karen Taylor (Good); and motivational author, hit song writer and recent cancer survivor Stowe Dailey. Genesys and Hurley cancer survivors are invited. They are welcome to bring along one guest. 20th Annual Bauman’s Charity Race

FLINT — Bauman’s Running and Walking Shop hosts their annual charity race with proceeds benefiting YMCA Youth Camp Programs, Aug. 15 from 6:45–9:45 p.m. at Kettering Recreation Center, 1700 University Avenue.
