TeenQuest enrollment is open for fall

FLINT — TeenQuest – a pre-employment and leadership training program that prepares young people for success in the 21st-century workplace – has released its 2019-20 schedule.

The first session will be held Sept. 16 to Oct. 17 and is open to all high school students ages 14-19 in Genesee County.

TeenQuest is held four times during the school year and is open to students in grades 9-12. The 2019-20 schedule is as follows:

Session 1: Sept. 16-Oct. 17 – Carman- Ainsworth High School, Genesee STEM Academy, Grand Blanc High School, Hamady High School International Academy of Flint

Session 2: Nov. 4-Dec. 5 – Beecher High School, Bendle High School, Carman- Ainsworth Baker Academy, Kearsley High School, Linden High School and Madison Academy.

Session 3: Jan. 6-Feb. 6 – Atherton High School, Boys & Girls Club, Clio High School, Davison High School, LakeVille High School and Southwestern Classical Academy.

Session 4: Feb. 24-March 27 – Bentley High School, Carman-Ainsworth Baker Academy, Genesee STEM Academy, Grand Blanc High School, Hamady High School, Lake Fenton High School and Swartz Creek High School.

Humana Medicare Advantage members now have in-network access

FLINT — Grand Blanc-based McLaren Physician Partners (MPP) and leading health and well-being company Humana Inc. (NYSE: HUM) have signed an agreement that expands in-network options for Humana Medicare Advantage members in Michigan seeking care at McLaren Health Care hospitals and outpatient facilities.

The contract also provides additional in-network access for Humana Medicare Advantage members to physicians and clinicians employed by, and affiliated with, McLaren Health Care in Michigan.

MPP is a physician hospital organization dedicated to the creation of a clinically integrated network to drive health care delivery and includes 14 Michigan hospitals.

The agreement, now in effect, adds in-network access for Humana Medicare Advantage Health Maintenance Organization (HMO), Preferred Provider Organization (PPO), and Private Fee-for-Service (PFFS) health plan members at all McLaren Health Care outpatient facilities, as well as at eight McLaren Health Care hospitals in Central and Eastern Michigan: Bad Axe: McLaren Thumb Region; Bay City: McLaren Bay Region and McLaren Bay Special Care; Caro: McLaren Caro Region; Detroit: Karmanos Cancer Institute; Flint: McLaren Flint; Lapeer: McLaren Lapeer Region; and Mount Clemens: McLaren Macomb.
