Giant Book Sale

FLINT TWP. — The Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Flint, 2474 S. Ballenger Hwy., is having a giant book sale starting today (Oct. 3) through Oct. 5.

There will be a huge selection of books, DVDs, and CDs at great prices. Times are Oct. 3-4 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Oct. 5 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. — G.G.

Flushing Rotary Club Beer Tent recap

FLUSHING — The Flushing Rotary Club has announced that it raised around $23,000 from its annual Beer Tent and Raffle Fundraiser, which was held in Flushing on Sept. 13 and 14. This year’s beer tent drew 250 attendees on Sept. 13 and 350 attendees on Sept. 14. All funds raised will be used for Rotary Club community projects in Flushing. — B.G.

Tricks for Treats

FLUSHING — The 13th Annual Tricks for Treats will be held at Key-Lore Woof Woods Dog Park on Oct. 12. This fun event for dogs and dog owners will feature a Treat Trail from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. and a Costume Contest at 2 p.m. Registration starts at noon. Hurley Teen Heart Health Check

FLUSHING TWP. — Hurley Children’s Hospital and the Thomas Smith Memorial Foundation will be hosting a Teen Heart Health Check at Flushing Middle School on Oct. 19 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. This event is open to all teens from ages 13 to 19.
