Annual Pig Roast at the CA-Senior Center Oct. 19
FLINT TWP. — The Flint Township Carman- Ainsworth Senior Center, 2071 S. Graham Road, will holds its eighth annual pig roast Oct. 19 from noon to 2 p.m. The menu includes a pulled pork sandwich, coleslaw, baked beans and a dessert. Cost is $10 per person in advance, and tickets are available at the senior center.

Tricks for Treats
FLUSHING — The 13th Annual Tricks for Treats will be held at Key-Lore Woof Woods Dog Park on Oct. 12. Hurley Teen Heart Health Check
FLUSHING TWP. — Hurley Children’s Hospital and the Thomas Smith Memorial Foundation will be hosting a Teen Heart Health Check at Flushing Middle School on Oct. 19 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. This event is open to all teens from ages 13 to 19. SWARTZ CREEK — One bathroom at Abrams Park will be closed until spring because of vandalism. Department of Public Services Director Tom Svrcek said the restroom was damaged several times and the last incident left it in a considerable mess. “We have to do a lot of plumbing work,” said Svrcek. — L.R.
