Thanksgiving Day at The Mounds 2019

MT. MORRIS — Genesee County Mounds ORV Park, 6145 E Mount Morris Rd., hosts the annual ‘Wheeling Against Hunger Canned Food Drive’ sponsored by “What Lies Beyond Jeep Club”, to benefit the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan (FBEM) Thursday, Nov. 28 from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. This annual event has become a charity phenomenon on Thanksgiving Day when hundreds of vehicles line up well before sunris to enjoy time well spent and camaraderie among fellow off roaders. Line-up begins at 6 a.m and the park opens at 8 a.m. FOX 103.9 will broadcast live from 7–9 a.m. and you can visit with Sly the Fox! St. Paul’s features ‘Music in the Heart of the City’

FLINT — On Dec. 4 at 1 p.m., celebrate the beginning of the Advent season with glorious pipe organ music. With over 80 ranks of pipes the Dalton Memorial Organ at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 711 S. Saginaw Street, visitors can enjoy Nicholas Schmelter’s production of wonderful music with his hands and feet. Schmelter is regarded for his creative programming, symphonic use of the organ, and virtuosic pedal technique. He graduated from Central Michigan University in 2006 with a Master of Music degree in organ performance and is the Artist in Residence at St. Paul’s. Old Newsboys fundraiser

FLINT — Luigi’s & El Toro Sports Bar host their annual Old Newsboys fundraiser “No Child is Forgotten” on Dec. 4. For only $20 you can have an evening of fun, dinner, music by the Blue Hawaiians (Elvis style) and a chance to put a smile on a child’s face Christmas morning. FLINT — The World’s Greatest Office Party, a Whaley Children’s fundraiser will be held Dec. 6 from 7-11:59 p.m. at the Dort Federal Credit Union Event Center, 3501 Lapeer Road.

Entertainment includes fire breathers and dancers and you will be surrounded by one of a kind decor such as an ice bar, ice sculptures and even a VIP igloo.
