2nd annual BobStock 2019: Rage for a Great Cause

FLINT — Indi-Grace Promotions (et al) host a fundraiser Dec. 21 at 7 p.m. – 1 a.m. at The Machine Shop, 3539 S. Dort Hwy. to support FAN: Families Against Narcotics – Genesee County Chapter to support those in the fight with addiction. This is the second annual celebration of the life of Last Encore’s front man, Bobby Sevick who we believe would rather we get together and celebrate his life in this annual Memorial Bash—BobStock!! We will gather to share remembrances of the fun, ridiculous and talented Bobby Sevick while raising money for a great cause with some of the BEST Michigan Metal and Rock bands: Chase The Sun(might be doing some Last Encore songs!!), Absorbed, Heart Of Jordan:, My Own Will, Crimson Winter, and Second Salem. There will also be raffle prizes, including a customized, autographed guitar by Artisticmess Web & Design and High Octane Designs, concert tickets for The Machine Shop, tattoo/piercing gift certificates from Fenton Tattoo and Piercing and more. Crafters giving back

Family Day with the Flint Symphony Orchestra

FLINT — The Flint Symphony Orchestra and Flint Institute of Music host the excitement of live classical music at Family Day with the Flint Symphony Orchestra on Jan. 11, 2020 at 1 p.m. and Jan. 12, 2020 at 3 p.m. at The Whiting, 1241 East Kearsley Street. Zehnder’s Snowfest

FRANKENMUTH — Zehnder’s of Frankemuth hosts the 28th annual Snowfest Jan 22, 2020 at 8 a.m.– Jan 27, 2020 at 10 p.m. at 730 S. Main Street. Celebrating 29 Years of winter fun for the whole family! Zehnder’s Snowfest has been host to one of the top snow sculpting events in North America for the past 28 years. Visitors enjoy largerthan life snow sculptures and beautifully detailed ice carvings each year created by professional ice and snow carvers from around the world. It is also host to the National Collegiate Ice Carving Championship and the High School Snow Sculpting Competition. Martin Luther King, Jr. Tribute Dinner

GRAND BLANC TWP. — The 41st Annual Citywide Tribute Dinner honoring Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., will be Jan. 16, 2020 at the Genesys Conference & Banquet Center, 805 Health Park Blvd. Centered on the theme “Rise to the Challenge . . . if not now, when? ” this year’s keynote address will be given by Janice Ferebee, MSW, a Docent with the National Museum of African American History & Culture in Washington, D.C. The dinner celebration starts at 6 p.m. and is open to the public. Keynote Speaker is Janice Ferebee, MSW, a native New Yorker now living in Washington, D.C., who is an author, consultant, docent, international speaker, and founder/Chief Woman Warrior of Ferebee Enterprises International, (FEI) a global female empowerment enterprise. The event is a fundraiser for the MLK Scholarship Fund which awards two $1000 scholarships to students at one of the sponsoring schools. Tickets are $50 per person. Christmas Giving Tree

FLUSHING — The Flushing Tractor Supply store on 5460 W. Pierson Rd. is participating in a Christmas Giving Tree for homeless animals at the Genesee County Animal Control. Now through Dec. 31, customers at Tractor Supply can donate to the cause by taking one or more ornaments off the store’s giving tree and purchasing designated pet-related items that are displayed on the ornaments. Customers can then give the items to the store cashier to be distributed to the Genesee County Animal Control. — B.G.
