Federal Financial Aid 101

FLINT TWP. — The Genesee Valley Center Library, 3141 S. Linden Rd., will host Federal Financial Aid 101 on Jan. 23 from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Get help filling out the FAFSA®. The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®) is the largest source of student financial aid in the nation. Make college or career education possible by filling out the FAFSA® to get grants, loans, and work study opportunities. Financial aid is given on a first-come, first-served basis so the best way for parents and graduating seniors to ensure they don’t miss out is to complete the FAFSA® now. Parent and students must attend together. You will need to bring: Social Security numbers, 2018 Federal Income Tax Returns and W2s. Swiss Steak Dinner

FLUSHING — The Flushing Masonic Center will be hosting its first Swiss Steak Dinner of 2020 on Jan. 19 from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. The dinner is $10 per person and take-outs are available. The Flushing Masonic Center is located on 349 S. Seymour Rd. in Flushing.— B.G.

Show & Tell

FLUSHING — The Flushing Area Historical Society will hold a “Show and Tell” event during its monthly meeting on Jan. 20 at the Flushing Area Museum (The Depot). Members and guests can bring any items that are unusual or are significant to the Flushing area, such as historical pictures, kitchen and farm items and collectables. Everyone is invited to this free program, which starts at 7 p.m. A door prize will be awarded, and light refreshments will be served. The Depot is located at 431 W.
