Board purchases parts for new doors

FLINT TWP. — The Flint Township Board of Trustees voted to approve the purchase of two steel doors for Fire Station No. 2. The doors and parts will be purchased through the low bidder Castle Brothers for $7,144

Fire Chief Thomas Stadler said the old frames and doors were subjected to the elements over the years, requiring repairs to a portion of the doors. The township will have the frame repaired and doors replaced. Rather than replacing the doors, they will replace a portion of both doors, welding the new sections into place.

“The damage to the doors is all down low,” said Stadler. “Replacing a portion of the doors saves a significant amount of money.”

The board unanimously approved the repairs. — G.G.
