Flint & Genesee Chamber supports governor’s orders

FLINT — The Flint & Genesee Chamber of Commerce fully supports Gov. Whitmer’s decision to close businesses and organizations where people gather in larger groups.

This, according to chamber officials, is a necessary step that will help protect the public’s health by lowering the risk of the virus spreading in the community. Protecting the public’s health must be the number one priority.

“At this time, we cannot quantify the financial impact of this aggressive action on local establishments; however, we believe it is likely to be significant, depending on its duration,” the chamber said in a statement.

The Chamber is working to support our members — restaurants, stores, shops and offices — by sharing timely information about the mitigation efforts underway as well as the resources that will be available to assist businesses with financial recovery. — G.G.
