In brief

Black Creek Trail repaving to happen this summer

DAVISON TWP. — Township officials thought they’d only be able to repair and repave a portion of the Black Creek Trail this summer, but the first phase of the project came in under budget allowing the township to go ahead with the rest of the trail improvements.

Supervisor Tim Elkins said the township has already repaired and repaved the trail from the township offices on Gale Road to the Davison Dog Park on Gale Road.

“We’re under budget so far that we can pave the rest of trail this year,” said Elkins. “On Sept. 14 they will tentatively finish repairing the cracks and pave the balance from dog park to the city. On Sept. 13-15 they will be out prepping and then doing the remaining work. To have it all done this year, that’s exciting.” — G.G.
