Outreach East matching fundraiser

DAVISON – The Outreach East matching donation fundraiser has raised $1,955, with an additional $1,955 in matching funds for a total donation so far of $3,910.

The fundraiser is a dollar for dollar match, turning a $20 donation into $40 for Outreach East. Details: Call 810-653-7711.

Meet the Candidates event planned

DAVISON TWP. — A Meet the Candidates event supported by the Genesee County GOP is planned to be held at the Davison Country Club on Sept. 24 at 7 p.m.

Due to current COVID-19 restrictions, the event will be held outdoors and will be limited in attendance. State and National candidates will be attending to meet voters, answer questions and deliver remarks.

Confirmed to attend are Republican Candidates Tim Kelly running for District 5 U.S. Congress, David Martin running for 48th District State House as well as representatives from John James U.S. Senate Campaign and from Trump Victory 2020.

Additional local and state level candidates have been invited to join the event. Due to the limitations, voters interested in attending must pre-register and receive a confirmation. Registration is open at www.GeneseeCountyGOP.com. Confirmation emails will be required at the event.

Davison Road rehab begins this week

DAVISON TWP. — The Davison Road Rehabilitation project started Sept. 15 in Davison Township.

The Genesee County Road Commission began a roadway rehabilitation project on Davison Road, from Oak Road to Cummings Road, in Davison Township. The work zone will be closed to thru traffic.

The posted detour route is Henderson Road, Potter Road, and Oak Road. Local traffic will be maintained via flagging operation. Motorists are advised to expect delays and to proceed with caution. — G.G.

Sneller announces Fall coffee hours

BURTON/MUNDY TWP. — State Rep. Tim Sneller (D-Burton) will hold in-person coffee hours at the following locations, times and dates:

• Sept. 21, from 6-7:30 p.m. at Sam’s Italian Restaurant, 4105 Grand Blanc Road in Mundy Township

• Oct. 2, from 10-11:30 a.m. at Scotti’s Coney Island, 5522 Lapeer Road in Burton

• Oct.19, from 6-7:30 p.m. at Sam’s Italian Restaurant, 4105 Grand Blanc Road in Mundy Township

• Nov. 6, from 10-11:30 a.m. at Scotti’s Coney Island, 5522 Lapeer Road in Burton

Sneller hosts coffee hours to give residents the opportunity to discuss the most important issues happening at the state Capitol and around the community.

Friends of the Flint Public Library used book sale

FLINT — The Friends of the Flint Public Library’s will be holding a small book sale at the Flint Farmers’ Market, 300 E. First St. on Sept. 17 from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. They will be in the covered pavilion. Please wear masks.

Due to the change in location the selection will include books, DVDs and CDs only.

Proceeds from the Friends of the Flint Public Library book sales benefit the programs and services of the Flint Public Library.
