Board approves new burial fees for cemeteries

DAVISON TWP. — The Board of Trustees approved a new fee schedule for urn burials at the township owned Pinegrove and Davison cemeteries. Originally, the fees to inter urns were $200 on weekday, $300 on Saturday and $400 on Sunday.

The new fees approved Nov. 9 are $370 weekdays, $470 on Saturday and Sunday. Officials said the new fees bring the township operated cemeteries more in line with what St. John Cemetery is charging for the same services. — G.G.

Davison moves on to face Grand Blanc

DAVISON — The Rochester Adams football team was forced to cancel its district semi-final game Nov. 6 against Davison due to coronavirus, allowing the defending Division 1 champion Cardinals to advance.

Adams ends its season with a 3-5 record. Davison will go on to face Grand Blanc at 7 p.m. Nov. 13 at Davison’s Cardinal Stadium. — G.G.

Davison Farmers Market annual Deer Widows Craft Show

DAVISON TWP. — Davison Farmers Market will hold its Annual Deer Widows Craft Show Nov. 14, from 9 a.m. until close. This will be an all- day affair.

Artisans will be present with their specialty crafts for the home and upcoming holiday season. Local farmers will have on display the best and freshest of their harvested produce and baked goods, eggs, meats and cheeses.

The Davison Farmers Market located off I-69, at the corner of Irish Road and East Court Street is open year-round from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.

BURTON — Toys for Tots Drive-Thru at Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 822, 5065 S. Saginaw St., on Nov. 19 from 11 a.m.-2 p.m.

A meal available consisting of soup, (chicken noodle or chili), sandwich, (ham, turkey, or tuna salad,) and chips for $7.

County announces assistance program

GENESEE COUNTY — Genesee County has announced a county-wide Small Business Assistance Grant Opportunity for low/moderate-income business owners impacted by COVID-19. Please help us spread the word to any businesses you may know with 25 employees or less and a low/moderate-income owner. Grants will be available in amounts up to $10,000. Eligible costs under the grant include items such as PPE, supplies/inventory, staff payroll or wages, and rent/utility expenses. Grant awards will be eligible for costs incurred between March 16, 2020 and December 31, 2020.

Flu immunization coming Nov. 20
