Assisted living facility may locate along Center Road

BURTON — The city administration reported to city council, Dec. 21, that an assisted living facility is looking at locating on Center Road, between Burton Place and Lagarda Security in 2021.

A proposed 81-unit development is being looked upon as “positive news” by the city administration. Mayor Duane Haskins called it a “nice facility” complete with putt-putt golf and a and bowling alley for residents.

If approved, two houses currently on the property would be torn down to make way for the 60,000-square-foot development.

Haskins said it is expected to take 9-12 months to build. Further details will be available soon. — G.G.
