Davison Market’s All-Day Craft Show

DAVISON TWP. — The Davison Farmers Market will be hosting a Craft Show on May 22, starting at 9 a.m. and running until close at 5 p.m. Rain or shine, the market will be full of vendors inside and outside displaying their artistic handicrafts. Greenhouse-vendors will be on hand with flesh flowers and garden plants for purchase.

The market will be dressed in a rainbow of spring color with flats and bouquets of vibrant florals. Other local vendors will have on display their quality goods and specialties.

Davison Farmers Market continues to maintain CDC Guidelines by wearing masks and practicing social distancing. They ask visitors to respectfully do the same. Hand washing stations remain setup throughout the market for your convenience.

The Davison Farmers Market open from 9 a.m.-5 p.m., Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

Andy’s Attic annual sale coming later in May

DAVISON — Andy’s Attic Annual Sale will be held in the gym at the St. John Family Center, 505 N., Dayton St., and in all the tents and the yellow barn behind the Family Center. This is a fundraiser, not a garage sale. Come and see the large selection of items to purchase and have fun.

The sale will be held May 20-21 and May 27-28 from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. and May 22, 24, 25, 26 and 29 from 9 a.m.- 4 p.m. They will be closed Sunday. The sale will take place rain or shine, and facemasks are required. — G.G.

Weekly car show to debut at Davison Farmers Market

DAVISON TWP. — The Harvest Collectibles at the Market will be held every Tuesday from 5-8 p.m. at the Davison Farmers Market, 8110 E. Court St.

A Best in Show Plaque for car, truck or tractor will be awarded weekly and there will be weekly 50/50 charitable drawings.

Some of the food vendors at the market will be open during the shows. This will be a family friendly atmosphere with food and music.

BURTON — The St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, 2143 S. Center Rd., will hold a Church Rummage Sale, June 11 from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. and June 12 from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. — G.G.

Council approves new speed limit on Saginaw Street

BURTON — The Burton City Council unanimously approved a 40-mph speed limit on Saginaw Street from Hemphill Road to Maple Avenue, replacing the current mixed speed limits there.

Speed limits there currently range from 45 mph between Maple Avenue and Judd Road; 40 mph from Judd to Bristol Road; and 35 mph from Bristol to Hemphill Road. — G.G.

Fire chief, treasurer wage increase ordinances approved

BURTON — At the May 17 regular meeting, the city council approved the second reading of an ordinance increasing the fire chief’s salary to $73,000 on July 1, $75,000 July 31 and $78,000 Dec. 31, 2022.

It also approved the first reading of an ordinance increasing the treasurer’s salary to $71,000 on July 1; Dec. 31 to $73,000; and $75,000 on July 31, 2022. — G.G.
