Davison Class of 1976 invites all classes to Richfield Park for a picnic

Eagles serving breakfast Sept. 11-12

DAVISON TWP. — The Davison Eagles, 3270 N. State Rd., will hold a Breakfast Sept. 11-12 from 8-11 a.m. The cost is $8 per person and it is all you can eat. — G.G.

American Legion to hold golf outing Sept. 12

DAVISON — The American Legion Post 267, 10309 Davison Rd., will hold a golf outing Sept. 12 at the Lapeer Country Club, 3786 Hunt Rd., Lapeer.

The 2021 team fee (4 person) is $320 or $80 per player. Hole sponsorship is $100 and will entitle you to have your sponsorship sign displayed at the golf course and, as a bonus, on the Post lawn for two weeks after.

This is American Legion Post 267’s annual golf outing. All proceeds to help local veteran’s and their families. Registration/check-ins beginning at 7:30 a.m. and a shotgun start at 9 a.m.

Corn Maze returning this weekend at Community Baptist Church

RICHFIELD TWP. — It’s that time of year again, time for the 8th Annual Community Day event. The corn maze is back. On Sept. 11, Community Baptist Church, 3104 N. Oak Rd., will be hosting a special day from 12-5 p.m. at the church.

The past couple years the maze has been a little muddy, so the church recommends bringing closed toe shoes, or even a pair of boots.

This event is totally free to the community. The church also will have face painting and bounce houses for the kids, along with walking sticks and lunch. There will be free food and fun, so bring the entire family. — G.G.

Davison Class of ‘58 Class Reunion

RICHFIELD TWP. — The Davison Class of 1958 will hold its Class Reunion at MoJoe’s, 4300 N. State Rd. at 2 p.m., Sept. 18.

There will be a pizza and salad buffet with a cash bar. Cost is $10 per person

Upcoming events at the VFW Clubhouse

DAVISON TWP. — The Davison Veterans of Foreign Wars Callbox Lounge, 8031 E. Court St., whill begin holding Trivia Night starting Sept. 7. Come out to play and have all you can eat tacos, chips and salsa for $5. Tacos at 6 p.m. and free Trivia starts at 7 p.m. Trivia is every other Tuesday.

On Sept. 11, come listen to some blues and a little rock mixed in with Larry and the Boomers performing at the Davison VFW Callbox Lounge, 8-11 p.m.

Mike Odette will be preforming at the Davison VFW Callbox Lounge, Sept. 18 from 9-12 p.m. Come out for a fun evening with great music and have a refreshing beverage.

Euchre is held every Monday at 6 p.m., sign up 5:45 p.m., cost is $5.

Rebecca’s Reason fundraiser

FLINT — Rebecca’s Reason, a Flushing-based nonprofit, will be hosting the Rebecca’s Sixth Birthday Bash Celebration fundraiser on Sept. 18 from 2 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at Central Baptist Church, 2211 N. Center Rd. in Flint. There will be a purse sale, a take-out dinner and tables full of silent auction items. Rebecca’s Reason holds multiple fundraisers each year to help pay for funeral and medical expenses for children all over the country, helping 217 families since 2016. C-A Band Boosters seek bottles and cans for fundraiser

FLINT TWP. — The Carman-Ainsworth Band Boosters are hosting a bottle and can drive from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 11. Returnable bottles and cans—preferably empty of contents and rinsed—can be dropped off outside the football stadium at the Carman-Ainsworth Middle School, 1409 W. Maple, Flint. Funds collected from the bottle and can drive will be used to support the C-A Blue Brigade Marching Band. — B.G.
