Youth basketball sign-up for 2022 at St. John’s

DAVISON — St. John Youth Basketball league will start its 13th season offering youth basketball in the Davison area.

Kindergarten through third grade Youth Basketball Sign up runs now through Dec. 23.

VFW to hold baked chicken dinner Oct. 6

DAVISON TWP. — On Oct. 6 the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4087 Auxiliary will be having a baked chicken dinner from 4-7 p.m. The dinner will include baked chicken, au gratin potatoes, vegetables, salad and dessert for $8.

Trunk or Treat at Richfield United Methodist Church

RICHFIELD TWP. — The Richfield United Methodist Church Annual Trunk or Treat will be held Oct. 16 from 5-6 p.m. at the church, 10090 Coldwater Rd.

Ireland’s Dream 5K Run/Walk coming Oct. 16

DAVISON TWP. — The Lucky Pumpkin 5K Run/Walk to benefit Ireland’s Dream, will be held Oct. 16, at Lake Callis, 1152 N. Gale Rd.

Ireland’s Dream is a 501c3 that supports children and families living with cerebral palsy. They are building a therapy center with state-of-the-art care that is oftentimes not covered by insurance but will be accessible by all. Ireland’s Dream doesn’t want financial struggles to prevent any child from getting therapy that will further they physical abilities.

They have changed the name of the race to reflect something fun this year with the Lucky Pumpkin. The first 25 runners to pass through the finish line get to grab a pumpkin. One of the pumpkins will win the lucky prize.

Family pricing – Register 3 or more people at the same time and save $5 per person.

Be sure to register early, there is no race day registration. Online registration will remain open until Oct. 15 at 11:59 p.m.

Awards: Finishers Medals for everyone! Age group medals: 9 and under, 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, and 70+…divided into female and male
