Old Newsboys call for community support

GENESEE COUNTY — In 2020, 5,885 children across Genesee County had a gift under the tree because of the Old Newsboys of Flint. Their Christmas Program provides a sweat suit, socks and underwear, a pair of warm winter gloves or mittens, a winter hat, dental hygiene products, and an age appropriate gift.

Because there is no state or federal funding for what they do, the Old Newsboys rely on support from the community and through fundraisers like the Sponsor a Child Fundraiser. Sponsor a Child allows organizations and businesses to play an active role in acquiring sponsorships for children by filling a paper tree with names on the ornaments that may be purchased one child at a time ($20).

With a $20 donation, you receive a commemorative button. Please help them with their mission to “Let No Child Be Forgotten” contact the Old Newsboys of Flint for more information at 810-744-1840. — G.G.
