BoRics to hold cancer fundraiser
GRAND BLANC — BoRics, 6307 Dort Hwy., will hold its third Annual Fundraiser for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, June 3 from 9 a.m.-noon and 5- 7 p.m. Haircuts will be a minimum donation of $10 and there will be raffle tickets to purchase for door prizes. Every client through the door will get a free bag of goodies too.

New chief medical officer named at McLaren-Lansing
LANSING — McLaren–Greater Lansing has announced it has named Linda Mercado Peterson, MD, FAPM,FAPA, to guide the hospital’s medical care and staff as Chief Medical Officer (CMO).
Peterson has been an attending physician at the hospital since 1994. She is past Chair of the Department of Psychiatry, Medical Director of the Consultation and Liaison Psychiatric Services, Chair of the Medical Ethics Committee and served as Co- Chief of the Professional Staff.
During her time as Chair of the Medical Ethics Committee, she founded and spear-headed a “citywide” End-of-Life subcommittee, which produced our “city-wide” Medical Advance Directives and uniform End-of-Life Policies. — G.G.
Hurley Foundation elects Gavulic to board of directors
FLINT — The Hurley Foundation Board elected Melany Gavulic, RN, MBA to the Hurley Foundation Board of Directors, April 23. Gavulic is the President and Chief Executive Officer at Hurley Medical Center.

Prior to serving as Interim President and CEO, she was Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at Hurley Medical Center, where she was responsible for operations, nursing and all patient care services.
Gavulic has also served as Vice President of Procedural and Ambulatory Services at Hurley, with executive level responsibility for Surgical Services, Pediatric, Obstetric and Adult Ambulatory Clinics, along with Trauma Services, Radiology, Bariatric, and Orthopedic service lines. — G.G.
Young joins Kendall staff
FLINT TWP. — Aimeé Young has been added to the sales staff at Kendall Printing Co., 5038 W. Corunna Rd. She has been in the design and print business for 13 years, since graduating from MSU with a degree in Advertising.
Young has worked in many facets of the industry ranging from outdoor advertising at ADAMS Outdoor, business to business marketing, a full service advertising agency and most recently, spent seven years at FedEx Office where she focused on graphic design and production.
