Sweet Adelines seeking singers

— Song of the Lakes Sweet Adelines Chorus of Davison is seeking female singers for membership openings. Genealogical Society to hold talk on Victorian Christmas

BURTON
— The Flint Genealogical Society will meet Dec. 7 at 7 p.m. at the Burton Senior Citizens Center, 3410 South Grand Traverse, in Burton. Barbara Kincaid, Curator of the Linden Mills Historical Society Museum in Linden, will speak on Victorian Holiday Traditions. The meeting is free of charge. — G.G.

Southeast Michigan MENSA is testing locally

FLINT
— Anyone interested in taking the test to join the Southeast Michigan MENSA, the test is open to the general public, age 14 and older, and will be held Dec. 4 at noon in The Law Offices of Lynne A. Taft, 720 Church St., Flint. Registration is at 11:30 a.m.

The test will take about two hours to complete. Test takers will be required to show a photo ID. The fee is $40, but is waived for members of the working media.

American Mensa is the organization open to anyone who scores in the top 2 percent on an accepted, standardized intelligence test. The organization has more than 57,000 members in the United States and more than 110,000 members around the world. Members of Mensa attend local and national events, join special interest groups such as astronomy, games, and philosophy, and help out in their communities through various projects. Old Newsboys ready for holiday assistance

The Old Newsboys of Flint will soon open enrollment in their Holiday Box Program which has been serving children from Genesee County’s low-income families for 86 years.
